Elton John becomes the first headliner to be confirmed for next year’s edition of the festival
Elton John to Headline Glastonbury 2023. The first headliner for next year’s Glastonbury festival has been announced as Elton John, whose performance will also be the last in the UK for his current Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
On Sunday, June 25, 2023, he will perform as the festival’s headlining act, making it only his second festival participation overall.
Elton himself stated in response to the news: “I couldn’t be more thrilled to be headlining the Pyramid Stage.
There is no better way to say farewell to my British supporters as my Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour draws to a close. They have been wonderful beyond belief, and they have helped me through all the highs and lows of my professional life.
“Glastonbury is frequently recognized as a critical turning point in the careers of new musicians I speak to on my radio program; the festival’s sincere, enthusiastic backing for the best up-and-coming talent is something I’ve long respected.
I’ve been discussing it with Emily Eavis for the past few weeks, and I can’t wait to get into the festival vibe. It’s going to be a very emotional experience.
“It brings me immense pleasure to let you know that the one and only Elton John will be making his first ever Glastonbury performance, headlining the Pyramid Stage on a Sunday night next year,” said Emily Eavis, a co-organizer of Glastonbury.
We will close the Festival and commemorate this monumental occasion in both of our histories with the mother of all send-offs since this will be Elton’s final performance in the UK during his final-ever tour. The Rocket Man has finally arrived at Worthy Farm, and we could not be happier!
The remaining headliners and other bands for Glastonbury 2023, which runs from June 22 to June 25, are expected to be revealed soon. The available tickets are all gone.
Only a few weeks have passed since Elton’s return to Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium, where he performed duets with Brandi Carlile, Dua Lipa, and Kiki Dee.
